Estate Organization & Liquidation
Whether you are downsizing to a much smaller residence or managing the estate of a loved one who has passed, dealing with a large amount of possessions at a difficult time, can be extremely stressful and overwhelming. Add in the memories and emotions that come up, and many people find it impossible to proceed on their own.
Sometimes all you need is an impartial third party, who is not a friend or family member to intervene and provide perspective, direction, and support.
Estates are unique because in addition to the usual categories of keep, sell, donate, toss, there are usually a large number of items that are held for family members. Managing all of this requires a wise use of space, the right storage solutions to contain and transport, and of course, lots of labels.
Once the precious items are allocated and distributed, a plan for what remains can be created. Depending on the timeline and the quality/condition of the items, that may involve an estate sale company, a consignment store, selling apps, a charity, or a combination of these.
Sometimes letting go takes courage and by courage I mean feeling fear and discomfort but moving forward anyway. In these cases it helps to have someone there to keep you on track and to hold you accountable to your stated goals.
